This course is a career preparation/exploration of the many dental careers and the terminology, ethics, customer service and professionalism of working in a dental office. You will learn how to use infection control and sterilization equipment, prepare patients and operatories for dental procedures, the basics of the dental radiography, proper dental health, lab procedures and basic office administration.
There are job shadowing and internship opportunities at local dental offices. Students must provide their own transportation to these sites, and should be covered by their own insurance with up-to-date immunizations. Participation in the Health Occupations Student Organization (HOSA) is required.Note:
