Physical therapy technicians, also known as aides, under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, provide care and therapy service for people with medical conditions and functionally limiting injuries. Physical therapy technicians support physical therapy care delivery by preparing the treatment area, patient and equipment.
This rigorous academic course requires a high level of independent study. Training is divided into academic coursework and hands-on clinical experience. Coursework includes anatomy and physiology, communication, law and ethics, infection control, medical terminology, the use of equipment and techniques to aid patients in rehabilitation.Note:
