Superintendent's Update - March 2021

EVIT Superintendent Update

On the front lines
EVIT Medical Assistant students have been helping with COVID-19 vaccinations at the Adelante Healthcare clinic located at the EVIT Main Campus. The students have been screening patients, recording findings and even helping direct traffic. Great job, EVIT students! We are so proud of you!

Job shadowing abroad
Congratulations to Megan Dietz, a first-year Medical Assistant student at the EVIT Power Campus, who has won a two-week job-shadowing trip to the Dominican Republic. Megan’s video entry won first place in a competition sponsored by HOSA Future Health Professionals and Global Pre-Meds, an organization that provides job shadowing opportunities abroad for pre-health students age 16 and older. Megan will get to job-shadow doctors in Dominican Republic hospitals and participate in volunteer activities.

New program
EVIT is currently enrolling students for our new Electrical and Power Transmission Installation program. Students in this program will learn how to install indoor and outdoor residential, commercial and industrial electrical systems and associated power transmission lines. The program will also prepare students to earn several industry certifications. Electrical and Power Transmission Installation will be located at the EVIT Main Campus, where other industrial trade programs in Construction, Plumbing, HVAC, Welding and Machining are already offered.

Virtual EVIT Expo
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we were unable to host our annual EVIT Expo in January. So this year, we have created a 6-day virtual event in April in which students and parents can learn more about EVIT, see virtual tours of our campuses and interact with teachers and recruiters. Visit www.evit.com/expo for more information.

East Valley Moms Blog
EVIT has partnered this year with the East Valley Moms Blog to feature stories and information about EVIT and highlight some of our instructors. Recruiter Blair Howland was interviewed on the blog’s Instagram account about career training opportunities at EVIT. Check out his interview: https://bit.ly/384uRpa
