We are pleased to announce that the East Valley Institute of Technology will have two traditional Completion Ceremonies in May to celebrate the accomplishments of our program completers. Both ceremonies will be at Chicago Cubs’ Sloan Park Stadium, 2330 W. Rio Salado Parkway, in Mesa on the following dates:

  • Completion Ceremony for EVIT Power Campus and Apache Junction Campus – 7 p.m., Monday, May 17 at Sloan Park.
  • Completion Ceremony for EVIT Main Campus and Fountain Hills Campus – 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 18 at Sloan Park.

With the Power Campus continuing to grow and evolve with its own identify, the EVIT Governing Board felt now is the time for our central campuses to each have their own completion ceremony.

The Completion Ceremony is for students who are completing their training in May. Most EVIT programs are two-year programs, so first-year students would not be completers. But we also have some one-year programs. Students should ask their instructor if they are unsure if they are a completer.

We will be sending out more details in the next few weeks about arrival time, parking, etc. Also, students will need a cap and gown to participate in the completion ceremony. If you have already purchased a cap and gown from your high school, you may wear that for the EVIT ceremony. We will also be providing a link next week where you can purchase caps and gowns if you don’t already have them. But we do encourage all high school students to wear their home high school caps and gowns to celebrate EVIT’s diversity.

We also will be letting you know additional details about any COVID-19 protocols that we may have to follow at Sloan Park stadium. We will pass those details on to you as they become available.
