EVIT Physical Therapy instructor obtains postgraduate designation, plans to work with U.S. Olympic teamDr. Michael Morris, Physical Therapy Technician instructor at the East Valley Institute of Technology, has obtained the postgraduate designation of Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician® (CCSP®) by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians™ (ACBSP™).

The CCSP® certification requires the doctor to attend a minimum of 100 hours of a 120-hour postgraduate program. This instruction is specific to physical fitness and the evaluation and treatment of injuries encountered in sports. Following the completion of these hours, the doctor must then take and successfully pass a comprehensive written examination.

“I chose this program to become a better instructor in the areas of sports medicine, and the prevention and management of sports injuries,” Dr. Morris said. “Most of the information in the course is material that I can bring directly into the classroom for the benefit of the next generation of physical medicine specialists.”
