Patricia Langlin Brazil, the founder of EVIT’s George Brazil Plumbing Service & Repair Technician program, has passed away. Mrs. Brazil was the wife of the late George Brazil.

“We want to make sure the school is training service plumbers to be the best they can be, that they care more for their customers than they do for themselves, that they are constantly trying to be everything that George would have wanted,” Mrs. Brazil, who had a long career herself as an award-winning vocational educator and businesswoman, said in a 2015 interview.

In addition to starting the plumbing program, she served on the board of the EVIT Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides scholarships to EVIT students who need assistance in paying their program fees, and was a generous supporter of the foundation’s annual fund-raising breakfast. In everything she did, Mrs. Brazil exemplified the very qualities of selflessness and care that she hoped would be instilled in future plumbers and home technicians.

Pat and George Brazil were two of the key founders of Nexstar, a best practice trade association for plumbing, HVAC and electrical service companies. Pat was also a patron of the arts, having recently served on the board of Arizona State University’s Gammage Theater, where she was awarded their highest honor for her contributions to the theater and community.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Patricia Langlin Brazil memorial fund at Explore the Trades, a 501(c)(3) charity of Nextar focusing on vocational education and career development in the trades: https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/WebLink.aspx?name=E171715&id=18
