Lynn Burnham of Mesa was sworn in by Maricopa County School Superintendent Steve Watson on Jan. 8 to serve as the District 4 member on the EVIT Governing Board.  Mr. Burnham fills the vacancy that was created when Carolyn Crandell resigned last fall.

A lifelong resident of Mesa, Mr. Burnham served on the Mesa Public Schools Governing Board from 2005 to 2008. He has also served as PTO president of Emerson Elementary School, chairman of the Westwood Parent Group, on the steering committee of the Mesa Grande Alliance, and as a local leader in the Boy Scouts of America.

Mr. Burnham is president of Copperstate Concrete, Inc., and holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Arizona State University. His youngest daughter completed the EVIT Cosmetology program and earned her state cosmetology license.

Mr. Burnham will serve as the District 4 member through the end of this year. The District 4 seat is one of four seats on the nine-member EVIT Governing Board that will be up for election later this year.
