Gilbert resident Amber McAffee has been appointed to represent District 7 on the EVIT Governing Board. McAffee replaces Larry Johnson, who resigned his seat earlier this year.

Maricopa County School Superintendent Steve Watson swore in McAffee as EVIT’s newest board member on March 23.

Born and raised in Orange County, Calif., McAffee moved with her husband and six children to Arizona in 2010. She is a former high school English teacher and a home-school mom. “I am passionate about education and creating opportunities for all children to succeed,” she said.

McAffee has been involved in local education for over a decade.

“I believe that career and technical education opens many pathways for student and adult success,” she said. “I look forward to helping EVIT provide quality, expansive career and technical educational opportunities for our students and communities here in the valley.”
