The East Valley Institute of Technology has sold all of its assets used in the operation of FM broadcast station KVIT, Apache Junction, to Desert Soul Media, Inc., an Arizona not-for-profit corporation.

The station, located at 90.7 on the FM dial, was the first radio station purchased for EVIT’s Radio/Audio Production program, and was used to give real world experience to students interested in pursuing a career in broadcasting.

With 2,000 watts of power, it was a good entry-level station for students to learn on. However, with the subsequent purchase of 88.7FM KPNG, with its 15,000 watts of power, it was time to release 90.7 and concentrate on the stronger station.

The station’s call letters, KVIT, will be retained by EVIT and transferred to 88.7FM The Pulse, currently KPNG.

Desert Soul Media purchased the station for $112,000.
